Another Monday, another chance to listen to Felix ‘Flex’ Flexerton and Herman ‘Herds’ Herdley as they read Murder on the Way! (1935) by Theodore Roscoe in sections and I attempt to entice them away from the confident groove they settled into last week.
We’re talking, of course, about Aussie podcast Death of the Reader, this being the second of three episodes, by the end of which the guys must commit to their own solution for the events in the book. Next week we’ll find out how they did and, if they got anything wrong I get…some points that I can exchange for…something? Look. I’ll admit, I’m vague on how I can use the points, but I’m sure I’ll’ve figured it out by the time they arrive.
So: several deaths, flying guns, a shooting in a locked room…what sense can be made of these things at the two-thirds point of the book? You can find out by listening to the discussion on Apple podcasts, on Spotify, and at various other places via the link above, or by watching it on YouTube or below.
Next week: The Reckoning…
This seems like a really cool idea. Was the book chosen by Flex and Herds themselves?

I’ll be honest, I can’t actually remember — I have a feeling it might have come from a bit of mutual suggestion, but we recorded it a while ago and a lot has happened since then…!
