A quick word from me before the festive craziness starts to wish a very happy, safe, peaceful, and relaxing Christmas to you all. Many thanks for dropping by and getting involved in the few months The Invisible Event has been running – it’s been an absolute joy, and I feel immensely privileged to have had the discussion I’ve had with such passionate, knowledgeable, entertaining, and discerning people as yourselves.
A merry Christmas to you also. Really enjoyed reading your blog this year and look forward to many more posts to come. Hope you get lots of book shaped presents tomorrow…
I’m working on a blog post dedicated to you, JJ, for the inspiration you’ve provided me. It’ll take a while, since much reading is involved. I’ve had such fun this year entering the blogosphere and meeting you and Kate and so many other erudite readers, writers and commentators of mystery fiction. Here’s to another year of great books and great chat.
Well now I’m all flustered and flattered and confused and scared and flattered and all manner of other emotions I’ve not experienced before. I mean, the main one probably disappointment that my inspiration can apparently be contained to a single post – clearly you’ve not been paying close enough attention – but I thank-you for the undue credit you’re paying me by even implying such a thing. I look forward to it immensely. Just be sure not to underplay your own superb contributions (Kate and I have already pegged you as our muse); it really has been a huge amount of fun getting involved in this community, and so many people contributing so much good stuff is why it works so well.

Likewise – thanks for your regular input here and the excellent variety you’re offering at CrossExaminingCrime to keep the rest of us up to standard.
And, yeah, if there are no books then there will be blood…
